ISSN 0001-5555 Sir, The EuroSCAR group recently assigned paracetamol as “a drug of common use with no significant association” with acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) (1). However, some rare cases of AGEP in association with paracetamol intake have been reported (2–5). We report here the case of a patient for whom we have good evidence (i.e. by skin testing) that AGEP was elicited by a combination of amoxicillin and paracetamol and who showed unusual liver involvement and prolonged course of the disease.

A case of acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis due to amoxicillin-clavulanate with multiple positivity to beta-lactam patch testing.
We present a case of acute generalized exanthematous pustolosis (AGEP) induced by amoxicillin-clavulanate. Clinical diagnosis was confirmed by symptoms presentation and histological features (Euroscar score point compatible with definite diagnosis). Patch testing performer six months later confirmed sensitization to the culprit drug and showed positivity also to other beta-lactam antibiotics (...

Acute localized exanthematous pustulosis (ALEP) is a localized form of acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, characterized by acute onset of multiple nonfollicular, pinhead-sized, sterile pustules following drug administration. Antibiotics, especially β-lactams and macrolides, have been implicated in the majority of cases, although eruption after nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs and ma...
متن کاملAcute Generalized Exanthematous Pustulosis Due to Oral Use of Blue Dyes
Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis is a rare severe pustular cutaneous adverse reaction characterized by a rapid clinical course with typical histological findings. It is accompanied by fever and acute eruption of non-follicular pustules overlying erythrodermic skin. The causative agents are most frequently antibacterial drugs. We present a patient with acute generalized exanthematous p...
متن کاملChildhood acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis induced by oral ketoconazole.
Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis is a rare disorder characterized by an acute onset of generalized, nonfollicular, pustular eruption associated with fever. It is usually drug-induced and is uncommon in children. We report a 12-year-old girl with acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis induced by oral ketoconazole. To our knowledge, in spite of its relatively frequent use, acute gen...
متن کاملTopical drug-induced acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis misdiagnosed as an oral drug-related eruption.
Acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP) is characterized by acute onset of fever with a generalized erythematous pustular eruption. It seems that more than 90% of cases with AGEP are drug-induced [1]. The most frequently involved drugs are aminopenicillins, macrolides, antimycotic drugs, calcium channel blockers, carbamazepine, and paracetamol. We report a severe case of topical drug–...
